Dịch xong mới thấy, k0 những tiếng Anh của mình quá đát, mà tiếng Việt cũng như rứa, tìm mãi mới ra được từ để diễn đạt ===> buồn như con gián, chán như con chuồn chuồn .

History nghĩa cơ bản là "lịch sử", nếu dịch là "quá khứ" thì cũng được. Nhưng Mistery nghĩa là "bí ẩn, bí mật", nếu dịch thành "tương lai" thì e là "thoáng" quá.
Cho nên theo thiển ý của tôi, chúng ta có thể dịch hai câu này thành:
Hôm qua là quá khứ, không thể quay trở lại.
Ngày mai đầy bí mật, không thể lường trước.
Có nghĩa là cả ngày hôm qua lẫn ngày mai đều nằm ngoài tầm kiểm soát của chúng ta. Chỉ có hôm nay mới là thời gian thật sự chúng ta đang có, là thời gian chúng ta có thể sử dụng. Vì thế hãy quý trọng và sử dụng một cách tốt nhất ngày hôm nay.

Dân Nghệ chúng ta nên sửa cách phát âm các từ bắt dầu bằng từ "y" nhé, ví dụ "you". Nhiều lần tôi chụp được vài vị phát âm "ziu" nặng nề đến ...nghẹt thở. Đừng ngại ...thè lưỡi ra để phát âm đuôi "th". Các âm nổ như "g" trong "good", "generation"... hay "just" chẳng hạn cũng phải được điều chỉnh ngay lập tức.

Thinking in English.
Most of us, when learning English, esp. when speaking, often encounter a difficulty, that is not easy to
rapidly take our words out. The capability of reaction is a high-wall that no need to say much, we all
know if we overcome it, for us, speaking English is not a problem.
So, why does someone even try so much, they don''t obtain the result as expected yet, their
response-time for an answer after being asked or the fluentness in conversations is still not improved .
According to me, that is because they wasted a period of time, even very short, may be a moment, to
translate their ideals from Vietnamese into English just before they intend to express some idea. They
frequently prepare the content of sentences (being about to be said) in Vietnamese too well to continue
expressing those in English. The more they try to make the sentences beautiful and well, the more
difficult for them to express those sentences. The result is they completely fail.
The solusion is as you learn and pratice any language, do think in it.
I just raise the matter briefly. There must be many nice ideas from all of you. Look forward to receiving

How can I become member?
To become an Information Centre member you must be at least 15 years old and one of the following:
+ a full time student (or to have graduated within the past 6 months)
+ employed in a full time job
+ a student of the British Council Teaching Centre

What is the membership fee?
The British Council in Vietnam offers one type of membership - one year, full membership. The cost of a one year membership is VND 180,000 payable in Vietnamese Dong
NOTE: Students of the British Council Teaching Centre do not have to pay a membership fee while they are receiving English language training from the British Council
The cost of membership is the same for everyone whether you are a student or have a job. All members can access the Information Centre at any time within the opening hours advertised
How can I apply for the membership card?
To join the information centre you need to:
+ fill in an application form which is available at the British Council
+ submit 2 passport photos
+ show your identity card and either a valid student card if you are a student or a letter of recommendation from your current employer or a current business card if you have a job

Infromations above, I think it is very necessary for anyone who wants to study E, esp. officially in British Council (by Horizon hotel, Cat Linh road). You have to spend only VND 180,000 to comfortably enjoy BBC World TV and a large collection of videos, cassettes, CD-ROMs, newspapers and magazines to help you get a full picture of the UK with its long history and tra***ion and latest advances in the arts, science, culture and sport and also a collection of English language teaching and learning materials for all different levels of ability.

Hi all my fellows,
I agree with Saxophone@ that one of the reasons why you can not speak English fluently not matter how hard you try is that you do not think things in English. What you often do is to think what you want to say in Vietnamese, then you try to translate your ideas into English before stating them out. And of course it takes time and results in your broken English.
However, to think in English is not easy at all. You have to firmly build up your English step by step before having the ability to think in English. First, you can think in Vietnamese and try to find out as quickly as possible the structures and vocabulary to be used to express your ideas. And because firstly you are not very rich in English structures and vocabulary, i.e. you have not many structures or much vocabulary to use, you should try to find out the most simple way to express your ideas; don''t try to make them complicated. I mean, you should try to think (in Vietnamese) simply and go straight to the point you want to mean. And then when your English, including structures, expressions, and vocabulary, gets better, I am sure you will begin to think in English, to discuss more complicated things and speak better English. Another hinderance that you need to overcome right from the beginning of your English (or foreign languages) study is your own shyness. Most of you feel shy and afraid of making mistakes and, therefore, keep the mouth shut all the time. You should think that even English native speakers make a lot of mistakes when they speak, let alone us - leaners of English. You should be more confident, try to open your mouth and make it familiar with pronouncing English words. Take it easy and you will surely get improved!
So, the first thing you should do is try your best to defeat your shyness, the most dangerous enemy inside you. I will very soon later come to you with how to enrich our English vocabulary effectively.

Cụ thể thì hơi khó nhỉ. Phải face to face thì mới hướng dẫn cụ thể được, Nhưng mọi người cứ nhìn người khác đọc (người nào phát âm đúng) rồi bắt chước theo, tập dần rồi quen thôi. Còn về một số hướng dẫn về phát âm, đặt lưỡi trong miệng như thế nào cho đúng thì các sách cũng viết nhiều, nhưng cái đó là tuỳ vào từng người thôi. Cứ học theo cách phát âm của người bản xứ rôi cố gắng phát âm theo.
Về từ "you", bạn nào phát âm thành "ziu" thì do các bạn tì lưõi vào dưới hàm răng trên và phát âm cố đẩy cho hơi ra giữa hai kẽ răng hẹp. Để phát âm đúng, hãy để lưỡi tự do, hơi tròn mồm một chút.
Việc này, nói chung là còn nhiều thứ phải bàn đến, hơn nữa lại là vấn dề không gây được nhiều hứng thú, tôi xin gác lại ở đây. Chúc các bạn hãy tự rèn luyện khả năng phát âm của mình tốt.

Two weeks ago was my 35th birthday and I wasn''''t feeling too hot that morning anyway. I went to breakfast knowing my wife would be pleasant and say "Happy Birthday" and probably have a present for me. She didn''''t even say "Good Morning" let alone any "Happy Birthday." I thought, "Well, that''''s wives for you, the children will remember." The children came in to breakfast and didn''''t say a word. When I started to the office I was feeling pretty low and despondent. As I walked into my office my secretary, Janet, said, "Good morning, boss. Happy Birthday." And I felt a little better; someone had remembered. I worked until noon. Then, Janet knocked on my door and said, "You know, it''''s such a beautiful day outside and it''''s your birthday, let''''s go to lunch, just you and me." I said, "By George, that''''s the greatest thing I''''ve heard all day. Let''''s go." We went to lunch. We didn''''t go where we normally go; we went out to the country to a little private place. We had two martinis and enjoyed lunch tremendously. On the way back to the office, she said, "You know, it''''s such a beautiful day. We don''''t need to go back to the office, do we?" said, "No, I guess not." She said, "Let''''s go to my apartment." After arriving at her apartment she said, "Boss, if you don''''t mind, I think I''''ll go change." "Sure," I excitedly replied. She went into the bedroom and,in about six minutes, she came out carrying big birthday cake, followed by my wife, children, and dozens of our friends, all singing Happy Birthday. And there I sat... on the couch.... naked .
