Words Women Use
Study this and know it!
FINE
This is the word women use to end an argument when they feel they are right and you need to shut up. Never use "fine" to describe how a woman looks this will cause you to have one of those arguments.
FIVE MINUTES
This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so it''s an even trade.
NOTHING
This means "something", and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. ''Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with ''Fine''.
GO AHEAD (With Raised Eyebrows)
This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine".
GO AHEAD (Normal Eyebrows)
This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don''t care" You will get a "Raised Eyebrow Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.
LOUD SIGH
This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment, and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing".
SOFT SIGH
Again, not a word, but a non-verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" mean that she is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe, and she will stay content.
THAT''S OKAY
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That''s Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. "That''s Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and in conjunction with a "Raised Eyebrow.
GO AHEAD
At some point in the near future, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.
PLEASE DO
This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn''t get a "That''s Okay."
THANKS
A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say you''re welcome.
THANKS A LOT
This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have offended her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh." Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only tell you "Nothing."

This is another funny story about the misunderstanding and confusion caused by the words with the similar pronunciation (such as "Who", a negative pronoun, and "Hu", the surname of the new leader of China - Hu Qin Tao, or "Yes, sir" and "Yassir", the name of the Palestinian leader). It is extremely difficult to translate this story into Vietnamese because of the dissimilarity between Vietnamese and English. But I hope that you can read and enjoy it in English.
HU''''S ON FIRST
(We take you now to the Oval Office.)
George W: Condi! Nice to see you. What''''s happening?
Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.
George W: Great. Lay it on me.
Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.
George W: That''''s what I want to know.
Condi: That''''s what I''''m telling you.
George W: That''''s what I''''m asking you. Who is the new leader of China?
Condi: Yes.
George W: I mean the fellow''''s name.
Condi: Hu.
George W: The guy in China.
Condi: Hu.
George W: The new leader of China.
Condi: Hu.
George: The Chinaman!
Condi: Hu is leading China.
George: Now whaddya'''' asking me for?
Condi: I''''m telling you Hu is leading China.
George: Well, I''''m asking you. Who is leading China?
Condi: That''''s the man''''s name.
George: That''''s who''''s name?
Condi: Yes.
George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of China?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yassir? Yassir Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the
Middle East.
Condi: That''''s correct.
George: Then who is in China?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yassir is in China?
Condi: No, sir.
George: Then who is?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yassir?
Condi: No, sir.
George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of
China. Get me the Secretary General of the U.N. on the phone.
Condi: Kofi?
George: No, thanks.
Condi: You want Kofi?
George: No.
Condi: You don''''t want Kofi.
George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk.
And then get me the U.N.
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Not Yassir! The guy at the U.N.
Condi: Kofi?
George: Milk! Will you please make the call?
Condi: And call who?
George: Who is the guy at the U.N?
Condi: Hu is the guy in China.
George: Will you stay out of China?!
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.
Condi: Kofi.
George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.
(Condi picks up the phone.)
Condi: Right, here.
George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we
should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you get Chinese food in the Middle East?

Oh wellõ?Ư pretty amazing! To be quite honest, I can hardly believe that you guys have done such a great job! Natna, Cyclo and starry_river, Iõ?Tm perfectly impressed by your enthusiasm and knowledge of English. Is is OK that I give some comments?
First of all, youõ?Td better stop translating posts into Vietnamese. Hey Iõ?Tm quite serious. When you learn English, be English, think in English! If youõ?Tre not able to grasp it at first, just use a dictionary, an English õ?" English one is highly recommended. Keep it in mind, ok? Never try to read sth in English then translate it into Vietnamese, it will just do you harm (except for those who are translators, which means theyõ?Tve already been experts on both English and Vietnamese.)
Another studying method raised was learning English through songs, right? Well, itõ?Ts great if you can listen to English songs and write down the lyrics, yet the fact is that they are grammatically wrong from time to time. Take õ?obelong toõ? as an example. If you pay a little attention, youõ?Tll soon notice that õ?otoõ? is always replaced by õ?owithõ? and I can say without hesitation that the lyrics will have affect on you in some way. So, be careful.
Finally, for those who cannot afford to have cable TV and watch CNN or other English speaking channels, please donõ?Tt listen to VTV News. You can buy a radio and listen to BBC instead.
Oops, I forgot! If youõ?Tre interested in studying English, come and visit our English box: www.ttvnnet.com/english.ttvn and this is one of the most helpful topics for English learners [topic]219270[/topic]
Keep up your good work, guys!
So close no matter how far... I have you in my heart and nothing else matters... :x

Beba, thank you for taking your consideration on my words. Pls show more detail the errors and their reasons, explain where and why I have to correct them.
Back to the sentence you''''''''ve just reported, is it true that you want to correct and replace "The fact..." by "The fact that..."? However I did write "The fact..." on purpose, be''''''''cos it expressed the meaning I referred above that is "Vie^.c...", not like other normal sentences. Besides, I think the phrase "it goes so far..." is not incorrect at all. People usually use "it" as a pseudo-subject when there is no real-subject, directly being accompanied with "it" is "goes" - a singular manner-conjugated verb, I think there''''''''s nothing wrong here. But may be I made a mistake I don''''''''t recognnize, pls show more clearly.... Thanks a thousand.
