    Esu, I think your topic is so cool
    English is the International language and for me english wil be play more and more important role in the future. 90% of infomation from www is displayed in english and 99% of commercial softwares are wrote by english. To day, as the aspects of globalization, the countries speak english has the big advantages from the Intelligence properties, international trading, education systems...

    Hmm. ^^ If it''s in the -future-, how can it be the -first-? And I don''t think noone is even sure what language is the first online language..if you count the technical definition of online language. But I think I know what you mean...^^;;
    Hmm... Chinese, I think likely not. Too many characters, hard to transcript...all in all, not very convinient. Widely used sure..but practicality is in question. =)

    Sure??? It is a matter of fact that English is outnumbered by Chinese in terms of the number of speakers. It is also a matter of fact that China is expanding economically so tremendously. But that Chinese will replace E as the international language ... is something possible yet beyond my imagination.

    I believe the fact that Chinese may replace English in the future has nothing impossible. Personally I find the idea very interesting and I''m for it.
    Chinese language does has its own advantages compared to English, especially in the informatic and pedagogic domain. Sorry I don''t have time now to develop my ideas more ...

    In fact, Chinese is more popular than English, because the population of China is more numerous than England and other speaking English countries. But, I don''t think in future Chinese will replace English. Because, when beginning to learn Chinese the people often get more difficulties. Even the native Chinese also have these difficulties. China has a rich tra***ion. There are many words are related with one of their tra***ion. And when they write any words, they must understand that tra***ion. I think so. And there is still another difficulty, that''s the way to hold the pen. You can''t hold a pen easily without somewhere to lean on. And to learn English will take you less time than Chinese.
    Well, plz ask someone who are beginning to learn Chinese, I think she/he will tell us more.

    Well, I think this''''s a topic of English Club. If you want to talk about Chinese, you shouldn''t go on.
    I ever had an intention to learn Chinese. But I think the time I spend on it is very much. And I am tired of the complicated words. Although its grammar is quite like Vietnamese''''s, but its reading and writing are more difficult. So if you have alot time, you can learn it. Good learning!
    As for me, I like English and Korean most, a bit Japanese, a bit Spanish... Even I have alot time, I never think about Chinese. Maybe I am die-hard, but I dislike English since I learnt literature and I knew there were many affections of Chinese to Vietnamese.
    Well, anyway, Chinese is still very beautiful language.
    Really, I amnot very good at language so I just spend time on one language I think it helps me much in my work. Oneday, I could change my mind, but I think it''''s just for fun. Heheee

    Just remember, the American speak AE, the British speak BE. The U.S. and UK ''s economic and politic power in comparision with that of China? Not likely Chinese would ever dethrone English as the first international language.
