Em ngỡ ngàng trước biển hoàng hôn
Sóng dềnh lên đưa thuyền ra xa mãi
Cánh buồm nâu. Cánh buồm nâu dầu dãi
Đậu dăng dăng trên nét gạch chân trời
Biết nói gì với hạt cát trên môi
Cũng thấm đẫm vị mặn mòi của biển
Mỗi con sóng quàng lên em sắc biếc
Hiền hoà như tay mẹ bao dung
Biển trước em thăm thẳm đến khôn cùng
Em trước biển nhỏ nhoi và cô độc
Biển ồn ào. Em lặng thinh và khóc
Sóng vào bờ đưa nước mắt ra khơi
Những niềm đau chưa nói được thành lời
Em tự thú trước mặt trời và biển
Em tự thú trước chập trùng mây tím
Trước trùng trùng cát trắng với rừng thông
Đàn chim trời bay khuất giữa hư không
Và chiều đến cánh buồm nâu về bến
Để cùng em quỳ trước biển hoàng hôn
...À ơi ngủ cả những câu thơ
Rồi tất cả sẽ nhạt thành cổ tích
Để một mai khi lòng tĩnh mịch
Tim tự ru những tiếng riêng mình.
