Thông tin du học Candidates Required Ph.D. in Water Sciences (Wastewater Treatment) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Research Project : Detection, analysis and tracking of endocrine disrupters and pharmaceutical compounds present in wastewater and wastewater sludge. Description : A group of scientists of the wastewater treatment team at INRS-ETE is working on the production of value-added products (biopesticides, bioinoculants, biocatalysts, bioplastics, biocoagulants/flocculants, and others) by using various microorganisms (Bacillus thuringiensis, Trichoderma viride, Bacillus licheniformis, and other novel strains) by growing them in wastewater and wastewater sludge (municipal or industrial). The doctoral project aims at monitoring and control of endocrine disrupter compounds and pharmaceutical compounds and respective metabolites found in wastewater and wastewater sludge, at all the stages of pre-treatment, production, formulations and filed application. The student will have to carry out detection, analysis and the follow-up of these toxic organic compounds in ad***ion to carrying out experiments on production of value-added products in order to adjudge the environmental risks linked to the alternative value-added products. Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) is a university establishment dedicated to research at graduate levels and the training of researchers. It also has as a mandate on the development of fundamental and applied research in sectors considered to be the priority for Quebec and this, while making sure the transfer of knowledge and technologies in concerning sector. It is within this framework that the sector, Eau, Terre & Environnement (Water, Earth and Environment) is concentrating its research activities on water and terrestrial resources from the point of view of integrated management, environmental conservation and sustainable development.
