Microwave Landing System1. IntroductionThe Unstrument Landing System(ILS) is for poviding the pilot of an aircraft with steering information to make a controlled and accurate approach to a runway even under adverse con***ions of the weather. This is accomplished by the provision of azimuth and elevation guidance and also distance from threshold information.2. Limitation of ILSThe conventional Ils has been in operation for more than four decades ,yet it has some technical and operatonal limitations.a. Terrain Repuirements. Localiser problems arise in ILS due to vertically oriented obstructions which are mostly manmade. Reduction in localiser corse bends is achieved by restrictying the radiations in particular direction (s) . Of course, such a cheme may not be prcticable always as pervebnting the radiation along possible reflections for the ground must be taken into account as they enter the approach region. The design of these arrays assume that the ground plane is flat, infinite and perfectly conducting. Three basic types of glideslope arrays have been in use, the choice being dependent on the terrain characteristics. These are (i) Null Reference (ii) Sideband Reference and (iii) Caputre Effect Arrays. The main difference in the above three types lies in the height of the array elements above the ground and their excitations . In all the cases, one type of radiation is directed along the glidepath which consists of an RF carrier modulated with the 90 and 150 Hz signals . This is referred as CSB. A sideband only (SBO) radiation is also generated which consists of 90 Hz ( phase opposite to CSB) and 150 Hz (phase same as CSB) with the carrier suppressed. This radiation has a null along the glide path. The SBO fields reverse phase as the null is crossed with the sum of the CSB and SBO fields producing the carrier variation.Ground Plane Requirement. All the above arrays have got a minimum grond plane requirement. This is because the sideslopes that are directed downward must be controlled so that no squrious image radiation enters the flight path region.It can be shown that tehreflecting ground required must satisfy the relationsand Here x is the length of the reflecting ground required, is the glide angle and is the wavelength. Sice the Glidepath is required to furnish elevation guidance from 0.18 to 6 degrees, applications of the above formulae give the figures of 4663m and 732 m respectively. On many occasions levelling a large area involves huge expen***ure and also may not be practicable. Considerable work has been done to design glidepath antennas which provide a sastifactory course even with non-ideal terrain. The End fire arrays and the Flush mounted tupes are examples of such designs.

Chẳng cần phải nói, một tâm hồn đạo đức là điều cốt yếu. Còn điều này mới là 1 đòi hỏi khó khăn : Tâm hồn hắn phải phức tạp. Quá nửa những người tao gặp chỉ sau 1 thời gian ngắn là hết làm tao ngạc nhiên. Tao không thích yêu ai mà tao biết người ấy quá rõ như đang đọc 1 cuốn sách. Được tài ăn nói nữa thì càng tốt, nhưng không bắt buộc. Vẻ hào hoa tuy nhiên rất cần thiết. Tao và hắn phải có thể trò chuyện, không phải bằng lời, nhưng bằng âm nhạc, hay bằng tâm linh... nói cách khác, qua thánh linh thiên chúa mà tao hằng tin tưởng. Hắn phải biết chơi nhạc. Sau cùng nhưng không kém quan trọng : tao phải có thể nhìn vào mắt hắn và trông thấy niềm vĩnh cửu ở trong đó (tao dứt khoát không tin vào tình muôn thuở, nhưng hừm...ít nhất cái "muôn thuở" nào đó phải hiện hữu). Nhưng tao lại nghĩ rằng cái này cũng khó định nghĩa đây...
