Nếu bạn dịch Nhà Bảo Sanh thì bên Anh có Birth Centre. Ở Mỹ hầu hết các bệnh viện đều có một khu thai sản gọi là Maternity Ward hay còn gọi là Family Maternity Center.

UNITED NATIONS INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN''S EMERGENCY FUND (U.N.I.C.E.F.).
Although U.N.I.C.E.F. was not a specialized agency, it worked closely with the agencies and was an integral part of the United Nations. Since its inception in 1947, over $155,000,000 had been contributed to U.N.I.C.E.F. by governments and individuals. U.N.I.C.E.F. aid has reached some 30,000,000 children in 60 countries and territories. The main items it provided were milk, rice, cotton, BCG vaccine, penicillin, and DDT.
Milk was being given to children in 16 countries in Asia, 10 in Latin America, and to about 400,000 refugee children and mothers in the Palestine area. Altogether, about 3,000,000 were currently receiving a glass of milk each day from re-constituted powdered milk. Almost all milk supplies sent by the Fund were for demonstration projects, carefully worked out with governments, to lay the basis for continuing child-feeding programs. The Fund also continued to send milk-processing machinery to a number of countries for drying and pasteurizing plants. In Europe alone, 4,000,000 children would benefit each year from these enterprises. Similar help was being given to Latin American and Eastern Me***erranean countries. Rice was used mainly for the refugee children in the Palestine area and for the famine area of India. Cotton was being used primarily for clothing for Korean children and for midwifery kits. BCG vaccine was currently being supplied or was to be provided, along with other help, for antituberculosis campaigns in Burma, Indonesia, Pakistan, Taiwan (*******), Brunei, and Malaya; Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jamaica, Ecuador, Trinidad, and Tobago; Aden, Iraq, and Libya.
The total of children vaccinated in these and similar campaigns in other countries exceeded 14,000,000. The penicillin was being used principally for antiyaws campaigns in Haiti, Indonesia, and Thailand, and for a campaign against endemic syphilis in Yugoslavia. An antiyaws campaign in the Philippines was to be aided by U.N.I.C.E.F. In Czechoslovakia and Poland, as a result of nationwide campaigns, the disease was no longer a serious public health problem. U.N.I.C.E.F. was helping India to establish its own penicillin plant, the first in that part of the world. The Fund was also helping to modernize a plant in Yugoslavia. The DDT was being used to aid large-scale antimalaria campaigns in the Central American countries, in Colombia and Paraguay, and in Ceylon, India, and Pakistan. The latter three countries and Egypt were receiving U.N.I.C.E.F. aid for the establishment of DDT-production plants.
In ad***ion to these six major types of assistance, aid was going for equipment for maternal and child health centers, children''s wards, and other units of a public health and welfare service. In many countries this help was being used to lay the basis for such services, particularly in the rural areas where help of this kind was practically nonexistent. Besides providing equipment for this purpose, U.N.I.C.E.F. was also helping these countries to train workers for such centers.
