RIA Novosti cho biết máy bay quân sự Nga TU-142M3 thuộc hạm đội Thái Bình Dương đã rơi xuống vùng biển Thái Bình Dương trong lúc đang bay huấn luyện chiến đấu cách bờ biển 20 km thuộc eo biển Tatar, nơi phân chia đại lục Nga và đảo Sakhalin vào lúc 21g19 (giờ địa phương) tối ngày 6-11.
Nguồn tin này cũng cho biết các quan chức quân sự có đầy đủ danh sách 11 trên máy bay trong lúc máy bay đang bay huấn luyện. Những dữ kiện ban đầu cho thấy nguyên nhân gây ra tai nạn là do sự cố kỹ thuật.

The PCHELA-1T remote-piloted vehicle is a part of a high-mobile complex that provides surveying in real time with TV equipment installed on the vehicle at ranges up to 60 km from the ground remote-control post.
The PCHELA-1T PRV modular design allows to widen the field of its application and to solve other problems, at the Customer''s option, by replacing the mission payload.
The complex consists of:
?mobile ground control station (GCS) incorporating the launcher and pre-start control systems arranged on one BTR-D air-droppable armored vehicle;
?ten PCHELA-1T RPV with expendables (launching boosters);
?one technological truck (TT) based on the URAL-4320 truck;
?one loader transporter (LT) based on the GAZ-66 truck.
GCS is intended for transportation of one RPV installed in the air-droppable container, for ensuring RPV pre-start control and launching, for generation of RPV flight control commands, reception, processing and display of the on-coming terrain data on the TV screen in real time, for recording the video data on the video tape recorder and for providing radio communication.
RPV is designed to deliver a mission payload to the preset area, to provide control of its operation by GCS commands and to transmit data to GCS.
Mission payloads:
?TV equipment - basic version;
?aerial target simulation equipment (to be delivered at the Customer''s option);
TT is intended for depreservation (preservation), maintenance, repair and preliminary preparation of RPV for a repeated application, carrying out scheduled maintenance and repair operations, RPV fueling (refueling), defueling and preparation of fuel mixture as well as for decoding the obtained data.
LT is to be used for transportation of up to two RPV at a time, GCS charging and RPV evacuation from the landing area.
The system is fully self-contained and allows to prepare and launch RPV from unprepared (in the engineering respect) sites.
Up to two RPV may be controlled at a time.
RPV is boost-started with the use of two solid-propellant booster rocket engines.
RPV recovery is with the use of a parachute and shock-absorbing legs.
On completing the mission RPV lands on the selected area with the use of a parachute and is delivered by LT to the technical or start position.
