Here is a clear photo of the Type 86 Mod, and it looks like PLA applied the same turret to both the new airborne APC and for older IFV like the Type 86. The turret is by no mean state-of-the-art, however, it is cheap enough to make the modernization program possible. The program were delayed due to technical issue with the 30mm canon.
