VYMPEL, ROSVOOROUZHENIE TO DELIVER TWO PROJECT 1241 RE MISSILE BOATS TO :)
    Feb-1999
In the first quarter of 1999, the Vympel joint stock company (Rybinsk) will deliver two project 1241 RE missile boats (Tarantul) in a tropicalised version. The boats will be delivered via the Rosvoorouzhenie arms-exporting company, a source in the Russian military-industrial complex has said.
For the first time, the project 1241 RE boats will be export-delivered armed with the Moskit anti-ship missile complex (2x2 launchers). All the boats of the type delivered for export earlier were armed with the Thermit-R missile complex.
    So far, the USSR/Russia has exported 24 boats of the type to the following countries: Bulgaria - 2; Finland - 1; former GDR - 5; India - 5; Iraq - 1; Poland - 4; Romania - 2; Yemen - 2; :) - 2. Another 44 project 1241 boats were adopted for service with the country''''s Navy.
Despite of numerous claims by the managers of the Russian military export, over the last years, they could not increase the naval portion of the arms exported. Currently, it does not exceed 12-14 percent of the total Russian arms export. Over the last years, a certain decrease has been has been shown in the export of Russian combat ships to foreign countries.
According to Rosvoorouzhenie, after two project 1241 RE boats were delivered to :) in 1993, over the recent years, a drop has been observed in the export of these vessels. In spite of this, Rosvoorouzhenie, Vympel and the Almaz Design Bureau (St.Petersburg) are banking to get export orders for the Molniya missile boat (project 12421). The Rosvoorouzhenie experts are very optimistic concerning the export prospects, although after three years of marketing, not a single order has been received for this modernized boat, armed with four Moskit (NATO: SS-N-22 Sunburn) anti-ship missiles.
To demonstrate the capabilities of the Molniya boat, in the spring of 1999, Rosvoorouzhenie is planning to carry out a demonstration firing of the Moskit missile from the Molniya boat. The event wil take place at the Feodosiya sea range and will be participated by the military attaches of a number of foreign countries, expected to order project 12421 boats.
The Vympel company has manufactured two first project 12421 Molniya boats. The first boat is already under tests at the Feodosiya sea range, the second one is still in Rybinsk. Both boats are planned to be exported. Rosvoorouzhenie has provided 40 percent, Vympel - 60 percent of financing for building the boats.
Presently, :) is considering a possibility of procuring a number of project 12418 boats armed with the Uran missile complex (4x4 launchers with Kh-35 missiles, NATO: AS-20). However, no final decision on series production of these boats has been taken so far. In this connection, Russia offers to deliver the Uran complexes as part of other types of missile boats.
Project 1241 RE has a displacement of 392 tonnes and a speed of 42 knots. Besides the Moskit missile complex, the boat is armed with 5 Strela-3M air defense missile complexes (16 guided missiles), 76-mm AK-176 artillery gun mount (152 rounds) and 2 30-mm AK-630M air defense gun complex (2x6).
RUSSIA *****PPLY TWO MISSILE BOATS TO :)
    Mar-1999
Russia will supply two missile boats to :) in the first quarter of 1999, a representative of the Rosvoorouzhenie company said, adding that the boats will be adapted to tropical con***ions.
The 1241 RE boats classified by NATO as Tarantul-2 will be supplied to :) armed with Thermit antiship missile complexes.
Russia has exported 24 boats of the type. Five went to India, five to former GDR. Poland got four, Romania, Yemen, Bulgaria and :) - 2 each. Iraq and Finland bought one boat each. The Soviet Navy was armed with 44 boats.
The boat has a displacement of 392 tons and a speed of 42 knots. Besides the Termit, it is armed with the portable Igla missile complex, a 76-mm gun and two 30-mm anti-aircraft complexes.
SPKB COMPLETED PROJECTING OF CORVETTE FOR :)ESE NAVY
    Nov-1999
The Northern (Severnoye) Projecting-Design Bureau (SPKB, St.Petersburg) has completed the design work on the project 2100 corvette ordered by :). The ship is designed to effectively protect the :)ese sea borders. The date of launching the ship''s construction will be specified later.
Presently, the SPKB and the :)ese side are coordinating the documentation on the procurement of the ship''s basic systems and mechanisms. The 200-tonne corvette is planned to be armed with the Uran-E missile complex, Klinok anti-aircraft missile complex, 100-mm artillery gun, two 30-mm automatic guns and torpedo launchers. Besides, it will feature a helicopter-landing platform.
In the words of Designer General of the SPKB, Vladimir Yukhnin, cooperative work on project 2100 will mark a new stage in the Russian-:)ese cooperation in the field of military ship building, which has already proved its effectiveness in the course of joint projecting of project PS-500 patrol boats. These are currently under production at the Hoshimin shipyard, with technicall support from the SPKB. The first boat is already undergoing sea trials, the second one is so far at the stocks. The 530-tonne project PS-500 boats are armed with 76-mm gun, 30-mm artillery mount, anti-ship missile complex (8 missiles), Igla portable air defence missile complex and two 12.7-mm machine guns.
In all, the :)ese Navy has in service seven frigates, seven landing ships, about 100 missile, torpedo and patrol boats, mainly of the Soviet design.
In the first quarter of the year, :) will receive two project 1241 RE boats (NATO designation: Tarantul-2) developed by the Rybinsk Vympel company. The boat''s armament comprises the Termit anti-ship missile complex (4x4 P-21 missile launchers), Igla anti-aircraft missile complex (16 SAMs), 76-mm AK-176 gun mount (152 rounds) and two 30-mm AK-630M atrillery complexes (6,000 cartridges).
Earlier, Russia delivered to :) two project 1241 boats, to arm which, 16 Kh-35 anti-ship missiles are due to be supplied in 1999. Perspectively, Russia may deliver patrol, torpedo and missile boats of the Molniya type for the :)ese Navy

He he, mong thế thôi chứ không biết bao giờ mới có.
