Nga chào hàng Amur class submarine, không biết bao giờ NC mua.
The most promising market, according to specialists, is South East Asia. Among the probable buyers of Amur-class submarines are NC, Thailand, and the Philippines

Meanwhile, sources said the Russians made a very attractive offer to sell its Amur class submarines. Not only that, several countries in Southeast Asia, including NC (which operates North Korean midget subs), are reportedly interested in the proposal.

NC có bàn về chuyện Kilo nhưng không biết hợp đồng có được thực hiện không?nếu mua được Project 636 giống như BC hay loại Armu class của Bác Condor giới thiệu thì hay hơn
NC has also expressed interest in purchasing such Russianmilitary hardware as modern submarines of the Varshvyanka typefor its navy. These diesel submarines, each costing $800 million, have an exceptionally low level of noise and speed of morethan 30 knots. According to sources in the Russian defense ministry, China hasalready taken delivery of several submarines, of a class known as Project877 to Russias or Kilo-class to the North AtlanticTreaty Organization (NATO), from the Rubin shipyard in St.Petersburg.
In recent years, the NC military has also bought twomissile boats and four radar stations in Russia. NC is alsopurchasing the Mosquito anti-ship missile complex, with supersonicmissiles that can fly at extremely low altitudes - below 10 meters -with an ability to hit targets at 120 kilometers range.

The Amur Class, described as the successor to the Kilo Class, will incorporate anechoic tile coatings and a quiet seven-bladed skewed propeller. Somewhat smaller than the Kilo Class it will be more capable still. Amur will have a new integrated combat system of Russian design unless otherwise specified. A Rubin-designed fuel-cell AIP (Air Independent Propulsion) plug can be added if required.
The fuel-cell AIP plug, 10-12 meters long and with a 15-day endurance, was supposed to be retrofitted to the Indian Navy''''''''s Sindhughosh Class submarines, which are currently being refitted at St. Petersburg. However, the subs have a plug with the vertically-launched Klub-S ASCM instead. An integrated reel-able towed array sonar system and thermal cameras are also planned to be fitted. The sonar may be the MGK-400EM, fitted on the Type 636 Kilo Class subs, or an improved version. The current MGK-400EM sonar can detect a low noise submarine at 20 km.
The armament planned is six 533mm torpedo tubes which can discharge within 15 seconds, with a two minute reload. Tube launched weapons include the Klub-S ASCM, a variety of torpedoes (can carry maximum of 16) including the improved SET-80 dual-use torpedo, anti-ship missiles such as the SS-N-15 or the SS-N-16 and a variety of mines. The Amur Class is expected to cost significantly less than the Kilo Class, and will shortly replace the latter as the type to be built in Russian Shipyards.

US decides to develop missile interceptor with Japan.
    Agencies 09:10, January 11, 2005
The U.S. Defense Department has decided to embark on the development of an interceptor missile and will seek to begin talks with Japan this year to move the joint research of the missile defense system to the development phase, Pentagon officials said Monday.
Japan eased its arms export ban in December to enable sales of missile components to the United States ahead of a planned upgrading of the joint research.
The United States has independently developed the Standard Missile 3 interceptor with a diameter of 34 centimeters. The U.S. Navy has pressed for building a bigger missile with 53 cm in diameter. The Navy says it would provide longer range and higher interception capability, but some experts doubt its effectiveness.
The updated missile system is under a joint research program between Japan and the United States. A Pentagon official said it will probably take at least three to five years to move the advanced missile to the production and deployment stage.
The bilateral missile defense cooperation is expected to proceed to a long-delayed new stage to become the centerpiece of the security alliance.
The official indicated that the United States wants to reach a final agreement this year to begin joint development, and is considering sending Lt. Gen. Henry Obering, who heads the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, to Japan to sound out the prospect.
After DPRK fired a long-range rocket in August 1998 that flew over Japan into the Pacific, Japan and the United States have been promoting a sea-based missile defense shield that employs destroyers equipped with the Aegis air defense system. A joint technological study was launched in 1999.
The research focuses on four key components, including nosecones and kinetic warheads for 53-cm SM3 interceptors.
The administration of President George W. Bush plans to deploy 18 Aegis destroyers and guided missile cruisers with SM3 interceptors in the Pacific, including the Sea of Japan.
