Nhà lãnh đạo trẻ của Triều Tiên hôm nay cảnh báo một cuộc chiến tranh toàn diện nhằm vào Hàn Quốc, nước đang có cuộc tập trận chung với Mỹ.

"Nếu kẻ thù bắn thậm chí chỉ một quả đạn pháo đơn lẻ vào lãnh thổ bất khả xâm phạm của chúng ta, toàn quân sẽ hợp làm một và phát động một cuộc phản công toàn diện", hãng truyền thông nhà nước của Triều Tiên, KCNA, dẫn lời ông Kim.
Theo phát biểu của đại tướng Kim trước những tướng lĩnh quân đội, các quân nhân dũng cảm của Triều Tiên đang sẵn sàng nhận lệnh để tham gia vào một cuộc chiến sống còn với quân thù. "Sự kiên nhẫn của chúng ta có giới hạn", ông Kim Jong-un nói.
Hãng thông tấn nhà nước Triều Tiên cho biết Kim Jong-un đã xem xét kế hoạch tác chiến và ký vào đó. Ông còn yêu cầu quân đội Triều Tiên (KPA) duy trì tình trạng báo động cao đề phòng những "hành động khinh suất" của đối phương.
Quân đội Mỹ và Hàn Quốc hôm 20/8 bắt đầu một cuộc tập trận kéo dài hai tuần, nhằm kiểm tra các khả năng phòng thủ chống lại Triều Tiên. Washington và Seoul cho rằng đây là một hành động tự vệ tự nhiên, nhưng Bình Nhưỡng lại coi cuộc tập trận là nhằm tới một cuộc tấn công hạt nhân phòng ngừa.
Khoảng 56.000 binh sĩ Hàn Quốc, hơn 30.000 lính Mỹ, gồm hầu hết là các quân nhân đang đồn trú tại Hàn Quốc cộng thêm 3.000 binh sĩ tới từ các nước khác, đang tham gia vào cuộc tập trận thường niên mang tên "Người bảo vệ Tự do Ulchi".
Ngay trong đêm trước khi cuộc tập trận này bắt đầu, ông Kim Jong-un đã tới thăm một đơn vị pháo binh tiền tiêu của Triều Tiên và thề "biến vùng biển tây thành mồ chôn quân xâm lược". Đây chính là đơn vị đã tiến hành cuộc nã pháo lên một hòn đảo của Hàn Quốc hồi năm 2010, khiến 4 người thiệt mạng. Đại tướng Kim ca ngợi các binh sĩ ở đơn vị này như những người anh hùng, đồng thời thúc giục họ không bao giờ tha thứ cho sự hiếu chiến của kẻ thù.

Newly-Built State Industrial Art Centre

Pyongyang, May 10 (KCNA) -- The State Industrial Art Centre has been built in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.



Ri Tong Chan, director of the Central Industrial Art Guidance Bureau, told KCNA:

It is thanks to the wise guidance of leader Kim Jong Il that the State Industrial Art Centre could be built.

In March Juche 99 (2010), Kim Jong Il had the Central Industrial Art Guidance Bureau formed to give unified guidance over the nation's industrial art, and took a measure to build the centre with the mobilization of soldiers.

The construction of the centre was completed with the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung (April 15) just ahead.

The centre houses the Korean Industrial Art Studio, Korean Industrial Art Information Exchange Agency and the Central Industrial Art Guidance Bureau, as well as an exhibition on the first and second floors, a 300-seat hall and an underground parking lot.

On display at the exhibition are materials and data featuring the undying feats Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and an anti-Japanese war hero, Kim Jong Suk, performed for the development of Juche-based industrial art.

Also exhibited are a variety of industrial designs and products presented by artists and teachers and students at Pyongyang University of Fine Arts and other educational institutions as well as amateur artists.

Conspicuous among them are designs of footwear, packing, tools and vehicles.

In April this year, the dear respected Kim Jong Un visited the national industrial art exhibition, opened at the center to mark Kim Il Sung's 100th birth anniversary, and gave important instructions for developing the industrial art. -0-

15th Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair Opens

Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- An opening ceremony of the 15th Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair took place at the Three-Revolution Exhibition Monday.

Present at the opening ceremony were Kang Sok Ju, vice-premier of the DPRK, Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade, and others, delegations of different countries and regions and diplomatic envoys of various countries and staff members of foreign embassies here.

A congratulatory speech by O Ryong Chol, vice-minister of Foreign Trade, followed an inaugural speech made by Kim Mun Jong, president of the Korean International Exhibition Corporation.

Speakers welcomed delegations of different countries and regions participating in the fair.

They said that the fair is a prestigious international economic gathering which reflects the desire and wish of mankind to establish a new international economic order based on independence and achieve the common prosperity and development.

He hoped that they would make good achievements through broad contacts and positive trade dealings.

They declared the DPRK would in the future, too, further expand and develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade with all countries and regions on the principle of equality and mutual benefit.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round products from companies of the DPRK, Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, Switzerland, the UK, Austria, Italy, Finland, Poland, Australia, Malaysia, Mongolia, China and Taipei of China.

The fair will last till May 17. -0-

Rare Visions of Rural North Korea - Liu Yuan

Rare Adventure In 2008, Chinese photographer Liu Yuan and his wife embarked on a train journey across North Korea. While riding the rails, Liu photographed out the window of his private compartment. "When a male inspector found my Canon 1Ds NMARK III with it 28-300 mm lens, he raised his eyebrows in surprise and quickly brought several of his comrade inspectors over to see it," Liu writes in Red Land, his book describing the journey. "Fearing it would cause some misunderstanding, I quickly opened the camera screen, showing them the pictures I had taken in Dandong, and allowing them to shoot a few pictures themselves. Upon confirming that this was just a large-sized camera, smiles appeared on their faces."


Slow Ride "Sinuiju (a North Korean city on the Chinese border) is only 220 km away from Pyongyang," Liu writes, "but it took six hours to get there. It was already completely dark. Fortunately, we saw our greeters, Mr. Kim and Miss Kim, at the Pyongyang Station. They said the arrival of today's train had been reasonably punctual. Due to lack of electricity the trains often stopped along the way, delays were very common, and sometimes they did not arrive until the following day."

Rules "I asked Mr. and Miss Kim if there were regulations in North Korea about taking photographs. Miss Kim said there weren't any in particular, and Mr. Kim added that it was fine taking pictures in the urban area, but not outside of the city."

Guests "The lights of Pyongyang were scarce, and it was dark everywhere. Inside the Yanggajdo International Hotel (North Korea's super hotel, equivalent to 4-star hotel), however, the lights were bright. The fairy-like waitresses in the restaurant wore tra***ional Korean dress. The food was fairly abundant. After dinner, my wife and I went to the hotel basement to take a look. There were ball rooms and casinos, but these were only for foreigners; Korean nationals could not enter."

Special Treatment
"The next morning, bright and early, Mr. Kim, Miss Kim and our driver were already waiting for us in the lobby. Miss Kim joked that with three of them accompanying the two of us, using a limousine, we were getting the highest VIP treatment they had ever seen."

Separation
"At every tourist site we saw soldiers with guns or armed personnel on duty, and local people were stopped several hundred meters away, not allowed to come near."

Regulations "It was forbidden at any point in the journey to take any pictures of backwards or unfriendly scenes."

Soviet Style "Miss Kim told me that North Korea's rural areas practice the cooperative farm system — collective labor, collective distribution. Rural housing is also unified, distributed according to population."

Hearth and Home "I had a personal experience with rural collective labor (in China) when I was young, having gone to the countryside to join a production team.
