Dozens were also killed as regime forces continued their aerial and rocket bombardment on the Damascus suburbs of Douma, Daraya, Thiyabiya, Zamalka, Deir Asasfir in ad***ion to many other towns in the East Ghouta district. They killed 42 people in Aleppo, including 26 civilians that died due to the indiscriminate shelling in the neighbourhoods of Hollok, Kastal Harami, Ansari and the provincial town of Hraytan, while 16 rebel fighters were killed as they continued their attacks on the air intelligence compound and the infantry academy in the suburbs of Aleppo.

Regime forces killed 26 people in Homs, 15 of whom died in a car bomb explosion in the densely populated neighbourhood of Malaab which is home for thousands of refugees who fled from other areas in Homs. Meanwhile, dozens of people were killed and injured in the Homs suburbs of Houleh as regime helicopter gunships dropped barrel bombs on its residential areas. Some 11 people died due to the indiscriminate shelling in the Idlib suburbs of Farika, Ma’arrat Noman, Ma’ardebseh while eight others, including a woman and four children, were killed in an airstrike on the Raqa suburb of Howayjat Shanan.

Regime forces shelled as many as 228 different areas today. They fired mortar shells on more than 60 areas while their heavy artillery pounded more than 112 others. Some 56 areas came under rocket shelling as fighter jets bombarded more than 17 areas of which three are said to have been shelled by cluster bombs. Helicopter gunships dropped barrel bombs on six areas thus causing extensive damage to residential buildings and leaving scores of people dead and injured.

The Syrian Expatriate Medical Association (SEMA) said that the 20-month conflict left more than 137,000 people injured so far.

The rebels bombed an armoured vehicle and two buses as they attacked a military checkpoint stationed at the fifth bridge (9km west of the airport). They also destroyed two military tanks as they repelled the regime’s ground assault on the town of Aqraba (19 km west of the airport).

Tổng thư ký Liên đoàn các quốc gia Ả Rập nhận định là chế độ Damas đã rệu rã trước thế tấn công của đối lập võ trang Syria. Trả lời phỏng vấn AFP, nhà ngoại giao Nabil al-Arabi tuyên bố là hôm nay « chiến sự xảy ra ngay tại thủ đô Damas » và sau 20 tháng xung đột « lực lượng nổi dậy đã thắng thế rõ rệt do vậy sẽ có một biến cố nào đó xảy ra trong nay mai ».



Theo nhận định của Tổng thư ký Liên đoàn Ả Rập Nabil al- Arabi thì chế độ của Tổng thống Syria Bachar Al-Assad sắp cáo chung. Phe nổi dậy đã mỗi ngày mỗi tiến triển từ « quân sự đến chính trị ». Liên Minh đối lập Syria, được Liên đoàn Ả Rập công nhận là đại diện chính thức của Syria quyết định « tiến tới ». Theo ông thì chắc chắn sẽ « xảy ra một biến cố quan trọng » trong nay mai, tức là sự « sụp đổ » của chế độ Damas.
Tổng thư ký Liên đoàn Ả Rập cũng than phiền chính phủ Nga vẫn ủng hộ Damas, ngăn chặn mọi sáng kiến của Hội đồng Bảo an Liên Hiệp Quốc. Tuy nhiên ông nhận định một đồng minh khác của Damas là Trung Quốc bắt đầu có dấu hiệu « mềm dẻo » hơn.

Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ đã dàn đại pháo, xe tăng dọc theo biên giới với Syria. Theo Reuters, hôm nay 03/12/2012 nhiều phi cơ chiến đấu F 16 đã được tăng cường ở vùng biên giới sau một loạt đạn đại bác của quân đội Syria rơi vào lãnh thổ Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ.
