Bạn nào có ý định thi new toefl thì cùng tiến hành nào, mình đi lùng sách về NG nhưng chẳng thấy, chắc VN chưa nhập, có khi phải nhờ mấy ông bến Mỹ hoặc mua online vậy, anh em ở đây ai có tài liệu gì thì post cho bạn bè tham khảo nhé

Tháng 3 chắc chắn là hết chỗ ở Hilton rồi. còn ở Somerset. rốt cuộc là ở Somerset hay Hilton tốt hơn nhỉ. hoá ra chỉ print cái confirmation notice của ETS là ok àh yên tâm thật. hehe. thanks bạn j nhé

Các điểm thi ở HN và SG đều đã hết chỗ, chỉ còn mỗi Đà Nẵng là còn chỗ thôi. Thôi đành thi luôn bên này vậy. Thi CBT, ngày nào cũng có, khá tiện. Mỗi tội mình chưa quen với CBT lắm.

Mình mới lặn vài ngày mừ cái chủ đề này của mình lặn mất tiêu, thực ra cái NG cũng khó thật nhưng có cái hay riêng của nó la ko có Grammar, mình cũng rất thắc mắc ko hiểu nó có thể trụ được lâu ở VN không, chứ nhớ đợt IBT trước hic, mà fee cũng increase nữa chứ, các bạn có ý kiến gì đóng gớp nhé
Q&A for next generation TOEFL
1. What is Next Generation TOEFL?
Next generation TOEFL is more than just a new version of the TOEFL test. It is ETS??s commitment to English-language teaching, learning and assessment, and is comprised of an array of products and services to help students, teachers and institutions.
The next generation TOEFL test will be introduced in two phases: July 2004 for practice and familiarity, and September 2005 for admission purposes.
2. What will happen in the July 2004 launch?
Next generation TOEFL will be launched in July 2004 on the ETS website in a ??get acquainted?? version. Multiple full-length forms of the test along with an array of practice and learning materials will be available at this site. Students and English language teachers will be able to use the site to familiarize themselves with the format and content of the test, as well as to practice and strengthen their language skills for this new communicative competency-based assessment. Scores on the full-length timed test will be reported to students only. No scores will be reported to designated institutions. The current computer-based and paper-based tests will continue to be given for admission purposes until 2005.
3. Why can??t the scores from the web-based test be reported to institutions?
The tests on the website will be for practice and familiarization only. ETS cannot report these scores to institutions because the test will not be administered under the proctored, secure con***ions that will exist at official test centers in 2005.
4. Why are you waiting until 2005 to launch the official test with reportable scores?
Next generation TOEFL is a big step forward in English-language proficiency testing. Students will be asked to demonstrate how well they can use English to communicate by reading, writing, listening and speaking. The test will include questions that involve integrated skills. For example, a student may be asked to read a passage and write about it, or listen to a lecture and speak about it. This will provide more and better information about the student??s ability to use English. However, we know this will be a change for many teachers and students. We want to prepare them for the new requirements and help them feel comfortable with the new test. Introducing the test on the ETS web site in 2004 for practice and familiarization, with educational tools to help learning, will pave the way for the official test in 2005, when scores will be reported to institutions for admission purposes.
5. How are you helping teachers and students prepare for the new test?
In September 2002 ETS introduced LanguEdge? Courseware, an innovative CD-ROM instructional tool for use in the ESL classroom. The Courseware ? which also includes a Teacher??s Guide, Handbook for Scoring Speaking and Writing, and a Score Interpretation Guide - assists teachers in building and assessing the communicative skills of their students. In ad***ion, it serves as a professional development tool to help teachers build their own integrated tasks and to guide them in scoring spoken and written responses.
The TOEFL Academic Speaking Test (TAST) is a stand-alone version of the speaking portion of next generation TOEFL. In March 2003 students will be able to practice the speaking section of the test over the telephone. Because the test will not be given under secure con***ions the scores will not be reported to institutions.
Multiple, full-length tests will be available on the Web site in July 2004 for practice and familiarization. The web site will also have an array of learning tools to improve English language communicative competence.
6. How will the new scores be reported?
Next generation TOEFL will report a score for each of four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). In ad***ion, there will be a three-digit composite score for the skills of reading, writing and listening so that score users can make meaningful comparisons to scores earned on the current versions of TOEFL.
7. How will institutions know how to understand and use these scores?
ETS will provide institutions with information linking computer-based and paper-based scores to the new scores, as well as clear, easy to understand score interpretation materials in June 2004.
8. When can I receive information about the specifics of the test design?
We will publish a complete overview of the new TOEFL content and format early in 2004. Prior to that time, we will be publicizing the overall approach to language testing that this new test represents, and the differences between this new test and the current CBT and paper and pencil TOEFL tests. As a prototype of the next generation TOEFL, LanguEdge Courseware demonstrates this communicative competence approach.
9. Which sections of the test will be computer adaptive?
The next generation TOEFL will be delivered by computer but will not be computer adaptive. Each test will be linear with a fixed time and fixed number of questions in each section.
10. Will there be any change in the cost of TOEFL?
Yes, but the price is not yet known. The price will be comparable to and competitive with other English language proficiency tests currently available to students wishing to study in English-based higher education institutions.
11. Will there be any change in the cost of TOEFL PowerPrep? Is PowerPrep going to change to reflect the next generation TOEFL?
The current PowerPrep software will be replaced with new preparation tools appropriate to the next generation TOEFL. The form of these tools is not yet determined, but the web-based TOEFL, available in July 2004 for practice and familiarization, will unveil these new tools.
12. I like the TOEFL the way it is now. Why did you change it?
ETS??s mission is to serve educational institutions and learners worldwide with the best possible assessment tools. Next generation TOEFL is the result of ETS??s commitment to innovation and to the most comprehensive and informative methods of testing language proficiency available in the world today. The new test reflects a decade of ETS research in English language proficiency and the development of sophisticated technologies to deliver an integrated, four skill, communicative-competency based assessment. Next generation TOEFL is the latest in ETS??s almost 60 years of continuous, research-based innovation in large-scale testing.
Colleges and universities need English language tests that match the dynamic and interactive nature of their campuses. They want tests that utilize real-life communication scenarios. Next generation TOEFL will do that.
