Các anh chị cho em hỏi tí. Em muốn học Master ve Software Engineering nhưng không biết nhiều về thông tin các trường ở bên ấy. Nếu có người thân ở bên Mỹ thì có thể giảm được phần nào chi phí không ạ? Còn nếu ở ăn ở tự túc thì chi phí khoảng bao nhiêu (per yr)?
Các anh chị nếu biết trường nào tốt về ngành này ở Cali hoặc Colorado hoặc là Hawaii cho em biết với(vì em nghĩ ở với người thân cũng bớt được chút chi phí!) Em cũng nghe nói về mấy cái TA/RA gì đó nhưng không biết mình có thể apply ngay khi vào học không hay là phải học một thời gian rồi thì mới apply được (vì học master chỉ có 2 năm à mà chi phí thì em không thể kham nổi hết)? Nếu có người thân ở gần trường bạn đang học thì bạn có thể xin ở nhờ và tất nhiên là giảm được khá nhiều, ít nhất là khoảng tiền nhà. Còn chi phí (ăn ở tự túc) thì còn tùy thuộc vào city, state bạn đang ở và quan trọng là cả bạn nữa. Nói chung chung như thế thì không thể đưa ra được con số nào cả (cho dù chỉ là estimate). Nội trong 3 states bạn hỏi phía dưới thì chi phí ăn ở tại Cali cũng khác nhiều ở Colorado rồi.

Hồi trước thì USNEWS có chia ra nhiều specialities trong Computer Science, có SE nữa nhưng bây giờ thì không có xếp hạng theo SE. Tuy nhiên, cũng có thể consider ranking dành cho CS là ranking của SE, khá đúng. Hawaii thì I''m sure there''s no university good at SE there b/c Hawaii is just a small state for tourism. Còn trường tốt hay không thì còn tuỳ thuộc vào khả năng (học tập, tài chính,....) của mỗi người nữa, vd 1 thằng MIT có thể chê Cornell là trường bèo. Đối với riêng tôi thì trong 3 states bạn kể thì có Stanford Univ với UC Berkeley là rất tốt, cả 2 đều ở Cali.
