Tour Guide Contest 2009

Tour Guide Contest 2009 is the first tourism contest established for students of more than 14 universities in Ho Chi Minh City. The purpose of the contest is to find students who have good English, wide background knowledge and various soft skills such as: public speaking, organizational skill, problem solving skill and especially, skills for a good Tour Guide.

Purpose of the contest
For students, Tour Guide Contest 2009 is a platform to discover their talent, to develop their potential and a chance to test how they can apply their knowledge into real life.
For corporate, this is a great chance to promote their brand name and approach the resource of local talents among universities

Tour Guide Contest 2009 is also a chance to promote famous tourist sites and the image of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam to public, especially to students in order to call for the response to the campaign of building and protecting famous beauty-spots of Vietnam. So that Vietnam can become a reliable tourist place for travelers all over the world. Also, it could take part in the economic development of Vietnam.

Besides, Tour Guide Contest 2009 is organized in response to the event that March of 2009 is â?oMonth of the youthâ? and 2009 is the ASEAN â?oYouth Travellersâ?T yearâ?.

All the students studying at universities in Ho Chi Minh City who want to challenge his/her English ability and wide range of knowledge.

The Champion : 10.000.000 VND with certificate from the Contest and Campaign Medal
The Runners-up: 8.000.000 VND with certificate from the Contest
The Third prize : 6.000.000 VND with certificate from the Contest

Scholarship
Three full scholarship packages with value of each package from 2.000USD to 6.000USD.

The scholarship package each consists of three to four weeks work as a Tour Guide Leader for a summer study tour in the US, UK, Australia or Singapore including flights, meals, travel insurance and all other business related expenses.
