It has 40 launching tubes and enables "single" or "ripple" firing, the rocket can be fired within 6 seconds each. The impact pattern for such firing is 200 m x 300 m. The rocket launcher it self can go through a 360° azimuth position and has a maximum elevation of 50°. Its unladen weight is 365 kg.; with 40 rockets fitted with the FZ-71 warhead, it weights 935 kg. For firing the rockets one must reckon upon an interval of 150 msec with a "ripple" firing. Its high mobility and firing power make it a highly effective weapon. By using the MK-40 motor, its range is about 6,000 m. and when used with FZ-68 motor its range is about 8,000 m.

FZ-32
The FZ-32 is generally used in target practice. On impact it generates a smoke cloud for 10-15 second. This warhead may also be used for target marking.
Weight: 2.95 kg.
FZ-71
The FZ-71 warhead is designed to have maximum antipersonnel effect. With its lethal radius of 21 m., it is a very dangerous weapon.Its nose fuse permits a minimum impact angle of 5Â. More than 8000 effective splinters.

Ground to ground
By using rocket launcher called LAU 97 that has 40 launching tubes and enables "single" or "ripple" firing, the rocket can be fired within 6 seconds each. The impact pattern for such firing is 200 m x 300 m.

Every launcher is homologated and qualified on the most present aircraft and helicopter.

The National Institute of Aeronautics and Space of Indonesia (LAPAN) has been involved in many space projects since its establishment. But it is not well published to public perhaps LAPAN would like to keep it like that. LAPAN succesfully indigenously design their own rocket since 2004 among them are RX250 type which can go as far as 120 km.
Eventhough Indonesia technnology in rocket design and manufacturing still away behind China, Iran, India or Pakistan, but consistent research and development from LAPAN will put Indonesia not in the long run one of among the few country which will produce indigenously our own rocket.
