Dạ, thanh xì kiu chị Brit ạ.Ơ nhưng mà tại sao chị lại biết em học Giảng Võ thế .
À em sắp sửa đi phỏng vấn tiếng anh ý ạ, có bác nào từng trải thì làm ơn truyền đạt lại cho em tí kinh nghiệm được không ạ? Camơrun thì thì không rùi. Nhưng mừ cái chính là em phải nói gì với người ta ạ?

hey there, where did you find that piece of teaching material? I suppose those thing are either a little outdated or old-fashioned. In spoken A. English, you can stress out just any word or any sound. And when you speak out a long sentence, native speakers don''t often stress so many words like your above examples. Maybe I''m wrong but that''s what most Americans do.

These examples sound very weird to me! We CAN speak that way but people would automatically feel a little strange before being able to figure out what''''''''s going on. Anyway, I suggest you learners take advice from trusted professional native speakers, not non-native speakers as they themselves get confused all the time. Another thing you need to know is that recourses available on the internet taken without complete understanding might lead to false learning which might seriously hamper your language acquisition. Once you learn something in a wrong way, it''''''''s not easy to learn to do it right again.

sure it''s weird coz no one speak that way in everyday life. i find it funny too. but it helps peeps 2 get the idea what sentence stress is.
plus, written words don''t contain sounds, so it''s vague & hard to explain sentence stresses in words. you proly understood and/or imagined it in a different way than i did.
i have a feeling ur vietnamese-american or at least live in america since ur early age that''s why u find it weird but if u got a chance 2 listen 2 a tape (for english learner) u''ll understand.

Hear foreigners speak (via films, for example) or practice speaking more and you''ll gradually learn how to say sentences with the correct intonation. No need to sit there and "tụng kinh" with those theories about intonation!
It comes naturally, I believe. We use Vietnamese in the same way. If we want to stress something, we speak it MORE STRONGLY. If we want to ask, we raise our tone at the end of the sentence. If we want to assert something, we stress the main word.

Even we Vietnamese can sense something wrong if we say "ARE you sure?" or "Are YOU sure?"
I have to say that following those theories does not make me speak naturally. See my point?
