Trong ngày thi TOEFL Tôi vừa nhận được một email của đứa cháu than thở về những lượm thượm trong ngày thi TOEFL 15/5/2004 tại Saigon vừa qua. Sau đây là nguyên văn email của cháu bằng Anh văn: It''s been a week since last Sat, my TOEFL test. I was too tired and busy to tell you different stories about last Sat. When I checked on the ETS website, it asked us to be at the test center at 8:00, meaning half an hour earlier before the test began. But can you imagine that not until 10:00 did we take the test. It was so tiring and torturing!.. They delayed the test because a lot of test takers don''t have a letter of recommendation to confirm the signature on their national certificate. The whole group of more than 150 people were forced to wait...and wait..and wait! Unfortunately for me, after finishing TWE and listening part, I started to feel dizzy (probably because I was too tired and stressed). And yet, I prayed and tried my best to finish one question after another. Finally, I finished the whole test. To be honest, the only thought came to my mind at that time was not to faint or else, I had to cancel the test. But the fun didn''t stop there. After they collected our tests, they realized that there was one paper missing. So, we were forced to sit in the room for another hour. I think that was my worst experience of test-taking. I still didn''t get my admission ticket of the test yet, even though my name was on the list. So, I''m not sure if I can receive my score through airmail. Are there any ways that you can check my score after another two or three weeks? That''s what they told me (the score will be mailed 3 wks after the test). .... uhmm, embé cũng đi thi vào đầu năm ngoái, đúng là fải chờ rất lâu, thủ tục rườm rà, vamột số bạn chỉ có tên trong list mà ko có admission ticket. hic. Nó bảo fải show up từ 8.00 đến 8.30 mà hình như 9 rưỡi mới thi. Chỉ nhớ lúc out ra thì đã gần 1h chiều (hoặc hơn, em ko rõ lắm)rồi. Không biết trong SG thế nào nhưng the test day em experienced là vậy However, SAT tổ chức tốt hơn, đúng giờ và mọi thủ tục giải quyết rất nhanh. Lý do có lẽ ít người thi (TOEFL thường gần 200 người thi, trong khi SAT chỉ khoảng gần 15 người 1 đợt, even less). Also, đi thi SAT , embé thấy có mỗi embé là non-native thôi, còn đâu toàn dân Mỹ , tụi nó quy củ và cẩn thận vụ giấy tờ, signature ..etc...lắm. .......
