3. People who live in a Glass houses shouldn?Tt throw stones : one should not criticize when one is equally at fault .
Ex: Janet has often critized her friend. Lois for driving too fast , yet she herself has had her license suspended for exceeding the speed limit . Lois once tried to tell het that people who live in glass houses shouldn?Tt throw stones , but it didn?Tt do much good . Janet simply didn?Tt except the fact that she should not pass judgment on other people when she is just as bad as they are.
4. Go to the dogs : become run down (xuong?T cap?T)
Ex: Have you seen their house lately ? It?Ts really gone to the dogs .
It?Ts true that it has become run-down and in serious need of repair , but I?Tm sure that it can be fixed up to look like new.
5. Fishy : strange and suspicious
Ex: When the security guard saw a light in the store after closing hours , it seemed to him that there was something fishy going on . Het called the central office and explained to his superior that he thought something strange and suspicious was occuring .
6. All thumbs : clumsy
Ex: Hey , Bea . Can you help me out ? I don?Tt seem to be able to button up the back of my dress .

I guess I?Tm all thumbs because I?Tm so nervous . I?Tm ready late for my date .
Well, I suppose that being so nervous would make you clumsy and awkward . But don?Tt worry I?Tm sure your date will wait .
7. Not to have a leg to stand on : to have no good defense for one?Ts opinions or actions.
Ex: Tom maintains that the film owes him some back wages for having worked overtime . However, he won?Tt have a leg to stand on unless he can prove that he put in all those extra hours. He doesn?Tt stand a chance of getting his money without a strong foundation of facts *****pport his position.
8. Stick out one?Ts neck : take a risk
Ex: How come they?Tre asking me to act as their guide through the jungle ? Evidently they think you?Tre the only one who can lead them to the lost temple . That jungle has danger lurking around everycomer .
They know that you would be taking a great risk and could possibly get hurt , but you?Tre the only one with enough knowledge to take them to their destination. I?Tm sure you?Tll be amply rewarded.
9.Shake a leg : hurry
Ex: Mary, you always rake such a long time to put on your makeup . Come on , shake a leg !
