For Valentinê?Ts Day, the guy I just started dating, sent me a card and half of a two dollar bill with the note: "I gave you a half of a $2 bill. I will have the other half in my wallet with me at all times. When we are together my half and your half will be a whole, and those ones make a two like you and me, 1+1=2." It is in my wallet and every so often when I miss him I pull it out and hold it. -submitted by Anonymous
14 Days Of Valentines
I went to a dollar store and bought 14 little gifts. I gave them to him one day at a time from February 1st to the 14th. I gave him his real present on Valentines Day, but it was fun for him to have 14 days of Valentines instead of just one. -submitted by superxveg
365 Reasons Why!
For Valentines Day, I gave my husband a box shaped like a heart and placed a total of 365 notes, letters, special memories, just wonderful things about us, about him and about me. I wrote my Valentine card and said that I poured my heart, soul, and love into the box, please pull out a note everyday which is a part of me. Hopefully, every Valentines Day I will replace the box with 365 more notes--forever.

5 Guys in the Kitchen
Valentines Day is not just for couples alone. It can be for more than 1 couple. We are in a our 3rd year of ?o5 Guys in the Kitchen.?
Year 1: 5 couples get together for a fun dinner. Guys make the babysitting arrangements and cook the dinner. We made up a menu for the girls and had them all over for dinner. The 5 guys spent the afternoon in the kitchen making dinner. We rented plates and glasses for a quick clean up. At the end of the night was a rose for each girl.
Year 2: Same crew as last year, but we were a little more inventive. Invitations were made up (personalized poem) that were laminated and sent FedEx to the girls offices. You can imagine the reaction as they opened the invites and the party favors fell out. The girls showed up at the house to find a nicely decorated table (rental plates again). There was a stuffed tiger on the table for each of the girls that growled, ?oI am wild about you.? The girls each have a drink and check out the laminated menus. A knock on the door brought the Harpist. The girls listen to the harp and have appetizers. They wait for dinner while the harpist finishes. Special coffees follow a wonderful dinner and dessert. A gift of last year?Ts invites and the recipes of the dinners is given. These are wrapped in tea towels. (The girls quickly figure out that they are to used as a reminder throughout the year.) Roses are given to finish the night. Husband of all the girls at work hate us.

A Customized Valentine's Day
The Monday of Valentine's Day week I will hide little cinnamon hearts around the house. I'll give him a decorated jar and he will have to find and collect the hearts throughout the week. The day before Valentine's Day I'll give him a sort of menu of options for Valentines Day. He can trade candy hearts in for different items on the menu (i.e. massage = 10 hearts, homemade dinner for 2 = 2 hearts, etc..) I think it'll be fun and it will ensure that he gets the Valentine's Day he wants rather than one I think he wants! -submitted by Jodi
A Family Valentine
It seems that every time we turn around someone is getting divorced, so this year we decided that on Valentines Day we would make it an "all love day." I am a stay-at-home mom, and my husband is taking the day off from work and we are spending the entire day with our 5 children. We are going to children?Ts school parties, make our usual heart-shaped individual pan pizzas, and then decorate little individual heart-shaped cakes for dessert. We then will play games and watch movies together until bedtime for the kids. Then we will have time for each other. We will exchange gifts and have the rest of the night for us - a couple, not parents for a little while. It may sound corny but with the divorce rate where it is, children need a day to be shown that there parents still want and need each other, and most importantly love each other. -submitted by Mother of 5
A Garden Enclosed
On our honeymoon, my husband and I read part of the Song of Solomon to each other before consecrating the marriage. So for our first anniversary I recreated the evening with a little twist. In the story, the woman invites the man into her "garden". So I did just that. I put a chocolate key (that I got at the dollar store near Valentinê?Ts Day) into my husband?Ts lunch with an invitation to "come into my garden," and a tag on the key that stated that it was the key to unlock the door. (?oHere is the key to a garden enclosed, a spring shut up, a fountain sealed." -- Song of Solomon) Then I decorated our home to look like a garden by putting vines around the doorframes and filling it with flowers. To add to the garden-like atmosphere, I lit incense (with flower fragrance) and played one of those nature cds in the background. I then laid waiting for him in our bed sprinkled with flower petals wearing only three flowers in places (I am sure you can guess where). I encourage you and your spouse to read the book together, in parts. It?Ts very romantic and may inspire a few ideas of your own. -submitted by Anonymous
A Heart For Music
This is an idea that I have for a cheap gift for Valentine's Day. I am learning to play the guitar and I have a really nice Fender acoustic with a pre-amp built into it. So I am slowly recording songs onto the computer that I played and recorded. For example Staind's ?oBlack Rain? is a really, really easy song that sounds very beautiful. Other ideas include Cold's Bleed or any romantic song that you can think of. I just hope that my girlfriend will like my little idea. -submitted by John
A Mailbox Filled With Love
Since this was our first Valentinê?Ts Day apart, I wanted to do something very special for him! I made a "mailbox", like in elementary school when you colored a box for all of your valentines to go into. Well, I got an ordinary box and sponge painted it with letters, and stencils to make it personal. Then I filled it with things that will remind him of me. For example: one thing I put in was chapstick with a note saying, ?oI wish I could be there but since I can't, I want you to at least be able to taste my kisses?. -submitted by Sarah
