Kenneth Kubis, giám đốc các dịch vụ phẫu thuật trên tàu bệnh viện USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), mắt đã tiến hành khám một bệnh nhân trước khi phẫu thuật được tổ chức tại Bệnh viện đa khoa tỉnh Khánh Hoà. Đây là lần đầu tiên Việt Nam là cho phép bác sĩ quân đội Mỹ khám và thực hiện phẫu thuật kể từ năm 1975.
Với sự hợp tác chặt chẽ của Chính phủ Việt Nam, sứ mệnh ?oĐối tác Thái Bình Dương? sẽ thực hiện các nhiệm vụ Hợp tác y tế, nha khoa và xây dựng các chương trình hỗ trợ Tất cả các chương trình trợ giúp y tế và nha khoa được phối hợp và được chấp thuận của Chính phủ Việt Nam.

Đại úy Eric Kuncir, một nhà phẫu thuật của tàu bệnh viện USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) và Tiến sĩ Đỗ Hoài Kỳ, Việt Nam đang thực hiện một ca phẫu thuật nội soi cắt bỏ túi mật cho một bệnh nhân người Việt.

Bs Alex Kordis của USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), và sinh viên nha khoa Jenny của Trường Đại học California San Diego Totten thực hiện điều trị nha khoa cho trẻ em Việt Nam trong một chương trình trợ giúp y tế công cộng.
Mercy thả neo ngoài khơi bờ biển Nha Trang, đang thực hiện sứ mệnh nhân đạo kéo dài năm tháng, nhằm hổ trợ dân sự trong chương trình ?ođối tác Thái Bình Dương 2008?.

Một tàu taxi từ tàu bệnh viện USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) đang chở một nhóm sĩ quan quân đội Việt Nam lên thăm tàu Mercy. Tàu bệnh viện Mercy là chiếc tàu quân đội nước ngoài đầu tiên đến thăm Nha Trang từ năm 1975.
