Vietnamese women 's identity

Taking about identity is difficult. On one hand, some people always think about good quality and look at the identify from good side point of view. Vietnamese women are beautiful, small in size, hardworking, family-oriented (take good cares of family) ,tender etc. They praise Vietnamese ladies up to the blue sky. On the other hand, some people feel frustuated about modern Vietnamese ladies and feel nostalgia about a Classic Vietnamese lady figure. Morden Vietnamese ladies are practical ,material and fogreined oriented. They do not know how to take care of family, do not know to cook a Vietnamese meal, do not behave properly with parents and siblings. Some even says they are more practical, more American than American. Vietnamese ladies are abused.

Which ''hand'' are you in,the first hand or the other hand? What do you think about Vietnamese women ''s identity? How can you recognize a girl as a Vietnamese in a crowd of Chinese,Japanese , or Korean. Some of my friends made a joke: Vietnamese girl could be identified because she is less attractive,small in size, very unsporty (they are lazy to do excercises, so their body figures are bad-looking .) Just a joke but it is true. So true. If you ask me how could I recognize a Vietnamese girl in Singapore. I tell you the same thing. They are not elegant, bad looking, bad English speaker (just as most of Vietnamese.) But those qualities are Vietnamese women ''s identity. Nobody wants to say yes, I believe.

Our SEC ladies, pls raise your voice. I suggest that if a Lady here can name a good quality of Vietnamese women identify and defend it well, our SEC men should treat her something (coffee or ice cream.) in the next offline.

( I believe our guys here won''t spend than more 5 coffee or ice creams, dun worry guys)

Let me elaborate more. For example, I will say '''' speaking Vietnamese '''' is one of Vietnamese women identify. I agree that Vietnamese speaking is one of the means to identify a girl as a Vietnamese woman. I agree that Vietnamese langague is a beautiful language. Those who can speak it could be proud of it. However, Chinese girls can speak Chinese and Japanese girl can speak Japanese. It is just as a Vietnamese girl can speak Vietnamese language. Nothing to be proud of it from identify point of view. So that quality is failed (no ice cream, no coffee.)
Another quality which can be named is good Vietnamese food cook. I agree that it is an identity ( one ice cream is rewarded.) Those who can cook Vietnamese food, who is consortia of Vietnamese food (its culture,history and technique aspect) could be proud of it. Recently I was taught how to made ''''bánh cuốn'''' by a Vietnamese lady. She stayed in Australia ,grew up in France. She just came back VN for the first time after 24 years. She want to make ''''bánh cuốn'''' but does not have any ''''equipment and tool''''. So how? She used wires of a metal hanger to make a circle shape, then use needle to sew cotton around the circile wires. Now she can make bánh cuốn. She is very creative and makes me surprised. Or she taught me that boiling (luộc) rau muống is not good because all the tastes and subtances will be gone. We should ''''hấp'''' rau muốn instead. Luộc gernerates sudden changes in temperature, and make ''''rau muống '''' shocked and ''''hấp'''' gradually change the temperature and the heat transfer process is easier for the rau muống to accept. I was totally convinced. It is very scientific. Surprised again. So ''''good at vietnamese food cook'''' is difinitely a identity of Vietnamese women ( one ice cream for me, just kidding)
Another game we can play. If a lady here could name a bad quality of Vietnamese men, our SEc men will treat them coffee or ice cream again. For example, some qualities could be named: gia trưởng (dominated in family), ích kỉ (selfish), bảo thủ (conservative), sĩ diện ( face saving), cả nể (sợ vợ) etc. I name a few first and these bad quality are not counted any more. Our SEC men and women, do you dare to play this game?
( to me as a male member, it is too dangerous to play this game. I am not condident at all to tell you guys how many ice cream we will spend for SEc girls)

hihì...còn nhiều chỗ chưa nói. Nam cũng có quyền tham gia: kể ra 1 đúng tánh xấu của phụ nữ VN thì được ăn cà rem.
Vấn đề ai chung,ai sẽ tham gia thì phải officially work out trước nha, vote đàng hoàng rùi game mới bắt đầu , ok hôn bà con? Chưa gì mà tui thấy spider man với em FJX bị ăn đòn rùi vì nói ẩu....(vô game thiệt thì chung cà rem mệt nghỉ).

Chỉ cái tội anh chê phụ nữ Việt Nam thôi cũng đủ để em treo nick anh lên 3 ngày. Còn chung kem hay cà rem thì tính sau.
Mà em trả lời ngon lành cành đào mấy câu hỏi của anh, chỉ có điều ko tham gia cái game đó thì mắc mớ gì em phải chung kem?

hi`...chê phụ nữ VN ,nếu như là chê đúng thì là có công chứ sao có tội em FJX. Thật lòng mà nói,thấy con gái VN tệ quá thì đau buồn lắm chứ,giận như kiểu Nguyễn Bính hồi xưa hờn trách:

Hương đồng gió nội bay đi ít nhiều
Thế nhưng nghĩ lại, ''trẻ thơ vô tội'' vì thật ra phần lớn con gái VN ngày nay có biết cái gì gọi là phụ nữ VN chân chính đâu,có biết cái gì là phẩm chất tốt đẹp của người phụ nữ VN đâu. Vậy thì làm sao người ta có thể mong đợi họ có những phẩm chất đó? Âu đó là tội lỗi của người lớn ''mũi dại lái phải chịu đòn.'' Giống như nhiều khi tui hỏi nhiếu cô VN biết làm bánh làm trái VN ko thì hỡi ơi đến cái tên bánh họ còn ko biết thì làm gì làm ra cho nỗi cái bánh (vd như là bánh bò,bánh da lợn,bánh cụt,bánh cuốn,bánh tráng,bánh canh v,v. ngồi kẻ hồi tới sáng.)
Còn tui có thù với con gái VN hay sao mà đi nói xấu họ ư? Ngược lại nữa là. Nếu hỏi tôi những phẩm chất tốt đẹp đáng gọi là bản sắc của con trai VN là gì, thú thực tui sẽ không kể được 1 phẩm chất nào hết. Thế nhưng nếu hỏi tui bản sắc của phụ nữ VN là gì thì tui cũng sẽ lôi ra được dăm ba cái. Công bằng mà nói, tui ưu ái phụ nữ hơn .
Vietnamese identity is a big cultural issue and serious problem in globolazation. I hope this topic will stimulate you, put you into thinking process of Vietnamese identity. Maybe after intensive thinking process you come to a conclusion; vietnamese has no identity. Or you will recognize some good qualities in Vietnamese characters ,then you feel proud of being a Vietnamese. I dun know about the results you obtain and I can''t tell you mine either ( I am thinking.) However, it is useful and benificial.
Let ''s imagine. You are put in a forgein country and stay there for 20 years. After that, how can you still tell people you are a Vietnamese? Can you still speak good Vietnamese language? Can you cook Vietnamese foods? Do you still behave as typical Vietnamese, kind and modest? Then,how can you teach your children and remind them of their originality? If you can''t do what I just mentioned. You are not a Vietnamese. No Vietnamese identify runs in your blood vein. Or at least you are not Vietnamese enough, to be polite.

phụ nữ VN hiện đại : nữ tính, năng động, tự tin, bản lĩnh, đáng yêu, nhu mì và nấu ăn tốt.
Túmlại, việc nước việc nhà : đều đảm đương giỏi.
Đàn ông VN chỉ làm đc vế đầu, hỏng làm đc 1 lúc 2 chiện như chị em phụ nữ.
