This topic is interesting. Lots of people asked me what my name meant, well, i said, it meant "passing an exam". Truly, i dont know how to explain my name for them. A meaningful name in Vietnamese may sound very funny and meaningless when traslated into English.
Anyway, I love my name, ''cause at least, I think it does have a hand in my education . I''m lazy but lucky, so i figure it must have something to do with my name

My full name is Doan Thi My Nuong. It was given by my grandfather. He said the meaning of my name is My: beautiful and Nuong: a girl. That is beautiful girl. In fact, I am not beautiful at all but I love my name.
My nickname is meaningless. It is because I think I am meaningfull to noone. So I chose that nickname. Now I try to be meaningfull and I hope somedays I can change my nickname into meaningfull.

Up to know, I''ve not known the meaning of my name. My name sounds heavily (I think so). When I asked my parents, They answered " In that time, We were waiting a daughter, not son cos we had 2 sons. So that when you start a first crying, We were so disappointed. We chose many pretty girl name but finally "one more thằng ku" . I''m rather upset when hearing that words but anyway my name sounds strongly and manly.
